Research interests:

Development and application of physically-resolved reactive models (RTM) to advance quantitative understanding of the coupled processes which determine the estuarine air-water CO2 flux under contrasting conditions of climate, system geometries and river inputs. The RTM approach will then be used in combination with a regional and global-scale biogeochemical classification scheme of estuaries to quantify the contribution of the estuarine filter to the CO2 pumping efficiency of the coastal ocean and to predict how this contribution will be altered by future climate change.
